Jolius is currently a deputy director of the centre of excellence for advanced research in fluid Flow (CARiFF) and Head of the BioNexus Pilot Plant (BNPPP) a role he has held since its inception in 2011 and 2009, respectively. Previously, he was a Head of Technical of FKKSA from 2009 to 2011. Jolius is currently an associate professor at FKKSA UMP since 2014, having first joined the faculty as tutor in 2004. Previously, he was a teaching assistant and a research assistant in the department of chemical engineering UPM since 2002. Dr. Gimbun specialised
in computer simulation, mainly on CFD and population balance modeling. He has
over 10 years experience in CFD, where he has been involved in a wide range of
activities varying from algorithm development to complex flow simulation arising
from his work at UPM, UMP and Loughborough. He had performed major CFD
simulations on aerocyclone, mixing tank, bubble column, spray drying, spray
freeze drying, gas-liquid stirred tank, ceramic filter and monolithic reactor
for academic research as well as for industrial consultancy project. He delivers
lectures in Bioreactor Engineering, Mixing of Fluids and Particles,
Thermodynamics, Unit Operation and Chemical Reaction Engineering. Dr. Gimbun
also serves as a regular referee for many international journals such as AIChE

Jolius currently lead 7 active research grant with
funding totaling RM261.5k. He was awarded the IEM best paper award for
three times and a third prize in FMPSG IChemE UK student competition
2009, as well as numerous research awards from various expos. He published and
presented over 50 technical papers in journals and conferences. His individual
article was cited over 110 times with citations totaling 493 according to Google Scholar as of April 2014.
Jolius is currently supervising 6 postgraduate students as a main
supervisor.
